In October, we took a day trip to Tiptree Jam Factory. We were given a tour of the factory, which was really interesting. And after a look around the museum, we had lunch in the tea room. A very interesting and very delicious day. Yummy.

As we said goodbye to the summer, our residents have still been enjoying the garden when they can. On wetter and greyer days though, we’ve been doing lots of arts and crafts, which is a great social activity for everyone.

Medical studies have shown that doing creative activities, like arts and crafts, could delay the development of memory problems in old age. These activities can also; reduce boredom and loneliness, and help residents to relax. It’s great to see how proud people are when their painting or latest make is displayed around the house.
