The Octagon residents took part in a wonderful music session the other week. A guitarist and a singer came in to entertain us. However, this duo weren’t the only ones performing. They brought in a selection of instruments so the residents could join in. They played a lot of 60s music so it really hit the spot. One of our residents, Dennis, was the karaoke king in his younger days and he was happily singing along.

The August Bank Holiday weekend gave us some glorious weather. We made the most of it with an afternoon tea in the garden. As the residents munched on their scones and sandwiches, we played quizzes about summer and chocolate (two of our favourite things). There was also a session of card bingo, with prizes up for grabs.

Outside of the house, we’ve enjoyed a trip to Buckhatch garden centre near Rettendon, and a pub lunch at the Shepherd and Dog in Billericay. The residents’ arts and crafts skills were also put to the test decorating keyrings.
