Our Timberlog residents certainly had an enjoyable month of May, with a variety of fun activities, from delicious treats, to dancing and Disney.

The first visitors were our friends the Young Carers from next door’s Timberlog Youth Club. 13 of them popped in one Monday evening to run a quiz they had devised themselves, featuring five rounds on all things Disney. They formed teams with the residents who enjoyed testing their knowledge of the numerous classic films and multitude of well-loved animated characters. The youngsters also laid on tea and cake to ensure that everyone was a winner.

Next up, a special, naughty but nice treat – a trip to the café for a traditional British breakfast. Eight of us made the short journey across the road to sample the delights of their full English fry up, washed down with plenty of tea and coffee. And very tasty it was too!

To top it all off, our final visitor was a wonderful young lady called Lily Lawrence who entertained the residents in the lounge with her display of ‘Dancing through the Decades’. From the 1940’s to the present day, she showcased well known dances from a variety of genres including the waltz, the jive, rock’n’roll and ballet. Everyone was utterly captivated and various residents were more than happy to join in with her when asked. They are already asking for a return performance!
