Building work continues at Octagon House so we planned a trip to Buckhatch garden centre in Rettendon Common.

The five residents had a chance to look at the vast array of trees and plants, gifts for the home and garden, and all of the Christmas decorations that had recently gone on display. While we were there, we had our lunch in the café and the food was lovely. We’re already planning a return trip in the new year.

We used local charity, Basildon Community Transport, to help us with the trip. Their buses are well equipped for people with mobility issues and it makes such a difference to be able to go on these trips!

This month everyone went back to the Shepherd and Dog pub to enjoy another delicious lunch. I think we’ll miss these treats when the noisy building work stops!

December is a busy time at Octagon and we’re looking forward to some Christmas festivities in December.
