At Abbeyfield we pride ourselves on ensuring there is never a dull moment for our residents and this month has certainly been entertaining. November of course means Bonfire Night and we put on a small fireworks display outside Timberlog. Those residents who joined us were wrapped up warm and given a seat from which to enjoy the spectacle. After that it was back inside for traditional bonfire fayre – hotdogs and jacket potatoes, followed by toffee cake.
This month also saw the welcome return of some our favourite entertainers. A few months ago the 5 piece band S.T.A.G visited and the residents enjoyed it so much we invited them back again. They didn’t disappoint and once more we were all tapping our feet and singing along with classic rock’n’roll songs from across the decades.
Another treat came in the form of dancer Lily, who returned to Timberlog to put on a Christmas themed dance show in the lounge. The residents all loved watching and indeed several were keen to join in and were soon bopping along enthusiastically. It certainly filled us with Christmas spirit and we look forward to what next month will bring!
