This time of the year is always a busy one and here at Timberlog, it is no different. With December almost upon us, the residents have been helping with the festive arrangements. A few weeks ago they made they made the Christmas cake and after giving it time to mature, it was ready for them to decorate with marzipan and icing. With that job done, the next on the list for their weekly baking session is a Yule log!

Before the madness of the office Christmas party season, we arranged to go out for a social evening, to the Noak Bridge Pub (previously the Prince of Wales) in Laindon. Ten residents and staff spent a very pleasurable few hours benefitting from the friendly staff and atmosphere, while tucking into tasty meals, washed down with drinks from the bar.

Another of this month’s highlights, was a visit from a group of young carers from the Timberlog Youth Club, which is located right next door. Youngsters between the ages of 13 and 17 called on our residents, who enjoyed chatting with them and very much appreciated the home-made cakes that the teenagers had brought with them as gifts.

With the Christmas decorations up and plenty more festive activities and visitors on the horizon, it is safe to say that the countdown to Christmas at Timberlog, has well and truly begun!
