Octagon residents were recently treated to a sumptuous Friday night dinner party, courtesy of House Manager Karen and support worker Gerri. They cooked up a storm, providing a delicious menu that would not look out of place in a restaurant.

The evening kicked off at 5.30pm with prosecco and nibbles. Residents, who were invited to dress for dinner, were then offered a choice of smoked salmon and prawns, or melon and Parma ham to start, followed by hoisin marinated roast leg of lamb, accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes and roasted or stir fried veg. A dessert of brioche bread and butter pudding completed the meal.

Plenty of banter and laughter was fuelled throughout the meal and well on into the evening by wine, Bailey’s, homemade sloe gin and the various other drinks which were on offer. Needless to say there were a few sore heads the following day, but all agreed it was well worth it for a highly enjoyable evening.

Many thanks to Karen and Gerri for all their efforts – they have already had requests for a repeat performance!
