At Abbeyfield we are pleased to have strong links with many community organisations and in the run up to Christmas, this is never more apparent.

On the 9th December Timberlog residents and staff enjoyed a trip to Greensted School, where they watched the children perform their Nativity play. Pupils then reciprocated by visiting the residents at home the following week, to sing carols and discuss their Christmas plans over fairy cakes and drinks laid on by Abbeyfield staff.

Not to be outdone, pupils from St Theresa’s also called in and gave us some beautiful carol renditions, while on yet another occasion, the minister and members of the Trinity Methodist Church, gave residents their very own carol service, in the comfort of the Timberlog House.

Everyone really enjoyed the various performances and meeting the lovely children and adults who generously gave their time to visit. By the time that Christmas Day rolled around our residents were full of the Christmas spirit. They all went off to spend the day with their families, some returning later that night and others staying over until Boxing Day. All agreed that it had been a very Happy Christmas indeed!
